[Seminar] An end-to-end simulation solution for boiler design and operation
Uneven coal and air distribution, declining coal quality, stricter emission limits: Simcenter CFD and structural simulation for boilers, as the basis for a digital twin.
Coal will still supply more than 42% of Vietnam's electricity through 2030, and coal-fired boilers are used across many industries. Engineers and managers face three main challenges:
- Unsuitable design distributes air and coal unevenly, lowering combustion efficiency and raising dust, NOx and SOx emissions.
- Declining coal quality reduces combustion efficiency and increases fuel use, wear and maintenance cost.
- Environmental standards keep getting stricter.
The seminar presents the Simcenter solution combining CFD and structural simulation to optimize boiler design and operation. The models built in the process are the foundation of a boiler digital twin for closer monitoring and better operation.
